In the world we live in today, gay people and online dating sites go together like peanut butter and jelly. It's a sad fact, but it's the truth. As a gay teen, these sites become your home; a place to meet other people experiencing the same things you are and maybe meeting someone. With the selection of your dating "preferences", you won't get people you aren't looking for.
But of course there's always one site (Myspace or Facebook) where one may not want to disclose their orientation for whatever reason. By hiding it, you can then get messages from unwanted people. I hid mine, and now I'm in a sticky situation. Now, I've been in this postion before, and I flat out come out to them. They magically disappear after that. But this time is different, and I'm not sure why. I do enjoy talking to her, but I think she's only talking to me in hopes of something more. I went as far as posting a blog about it. Specifically pointing out how I need to come clean, but "I don't have the heart do it".
So now, I'm still stuck. I haven't mentioned anything about me being gay to her. I think she really wants something to happen between us. I pose the question; has anyone been in this situation before? Have you been confronted by someone of the same or opposite sex in a hope for something more than friendship? If so, how did you let them know you weren't interested?
wow, wierd you should mention this situation in the last paragraph. Something like this happened with me and my bestfriend, I was afraid to come out to her. I decided to tell her over the phone becuase I didn't want to see her face when I told her. Now because of my age this worked for me. Maybe you can try this with your friend and see how she takes it. Okay, here's what I did. We started talking and then I started talking about my family then I made up a gay relatvie talking about they were going to take me somewhere this weekend then say he/she's gay. Then before she can answer say "what would you do if I was gay? then if you get a positive response then just come out to her thats what I did but if you get a negative response just say "Well I got some bad news, I'm gay. That should work lol I hope I helped you out a bit.

@O_oBrandonO_o@xanga - Haha. I think I'm in too deep for that to work. Idk. I'm just going for subtlety; give little hints. I'm waiting for that certain moment where I can flip something she says around to give her a hint. Also, very rarely do I come straight (oh a pun) out saying "I'm gay." It's too blunt and barbaric. I usually draw out some long story to explain it. But thanks for the advice by the way.
@DialogDistance - well duh don't just say you're gay and of course explain it with some long drawn out story I kinda shortened a little bit. Thats why the call them comment. I didn't wanna give out the whole play by play of what to do but i hope it all works out for you in the end
